The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office said deputies found an explosive device during the recovery of a stolen vehicle Monday afternoon.
According to the office, deputies recovered a stolen vehicle from a residence in the 4600 block of Alabama 36 in Somerville. While on the property, they discovered an explosive device behind the residence.

Deputies say the scene is secure and there is no threat to the public. There was no word yet on what kind of device they found.
Investigators said the device may be disposed of by being exploded by bomb technicians.
“Residents may hear an explosion,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post. “If so, there is no need to call 911.”
