Want to spend a lot of money on digital art, catch a flick that’s aimed at those younger than you, or listen to the comic musings of a bunch of bright people? Here you go.
NFT’s | BUY
There’s a new craze in the art world and collector’s corner called NFT. Non-Fungible Token is the sale of original digital art or digital keepsakes such as art, audio, videos, memes and more. According to Time Magazine, collectors have spent $200 million on an array of NFT-based artwork, memes and GIFs in March. Twitter’s Jack Dorsey sold the NFT of his first tweet for a reported $2.5 million earlier this month.
The Sleepover | WATCH
We don’t care how old you are, “The Sleepover” (2020) is a great movie. Designed for young ’tweens, it’s genuinely funny and sappy and heartwarming. It follows two siblings and their best friends who discover their seemingly normal mom is a former thief in witness protection who has been forced to pull one last job. Of course, they rescue her. Watch and love the performance by goofy Ken Marion. Watch on Netflix.
Working It Out | LISTEN
Comic Mike Birbiglia could host a podcast based solely on his own life — he survived cancer at 19, has a sleep disorder that made him jump out the second-story window of a hotel and is the parent of a 5-year-old, to say nothing of his wildly successful stand-up career. But the talks he has with fellow comics/actors, from Fred Armisen to Nathan Lane to Nikki Glaser to Natasha Lyonne, turn on far more serious subjects than you might expect, and will make you laugh harder than most anything else you’ll listen to today. And think. Wherever you get your podcasts, or birbigs.com
