COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Columbia City Council will hear an update regarding the city's COVID-19 restrictions Tuesday from local health officials.
Local leaders regularly discuss health orders in Boone County as numbers continually change.
Tuesday night, the city council will listen to an update on the COVID-19 pandemic from local health leaders with the Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services.
The council will discuss allowing Director Stephanie Browning to extend the current order that is in place past its original expiration date.
Watch Browning's presentation live in the player below. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.
Under the current order, restaurants and bars that serve alcohol are required to stop selling drinks by 9 p.m. and close by 10 p.m.
The city council will also hear an update from the Columbia Police Department before the council meeting. At its pre-council meeting the council will review an updated report on community policing.
The report outlines actions the Columbia Police Department is taking to improve community policing within the city, including rearranging staffing to allow officers to stay in the areas they patrol and splitting the city up into more beats.
