The Seahawks released eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker Bobby Wagner on Wednesday, but according to Wagner, the franchise icon did not hear the news that he wouldn't be returning directly from them.
"Crazy part about all this, I played there for 10 years and I didn’t even hear it from them that I wasn’t coming back," Wagner tweeted Friday.
Wagner, 31, played his entire career with the Seahawks since being drafted by the franchise in 2012. He was scheduled to make $16.6 million and account for a $20.3 million salary cap hit next season on the third year of a three-year, $54 million deal.
Wagner recorded 1,381 career tackles, a franchise record, during his decade with the Seahawks.
On Tuesday, the Seahawks traded quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.
