YPSILANTI, MI - Ypsilanti police stayed silent when Danyale Neely’s sister was murdered.

The first public statement disclosing the death of Courtney Latrice Neely at the hands of her ex-boyfriend and father of her 4-month-old child came weeks later from a local domestic violence center, questioning why the violent act had gone unreported.
