Jill Biden was allowed to brush off The Post’s bombshell reporting on son Hunter Biden’s business dealings as “smears” and “distractions” in a softball interview on “The View” — even as evidence mounted that her husband, Democratic nominee Joe Biden, was heavily involved.
In an interview on the ABC daytime talk show on Wednesday, the former second lady did not deny the allegations that her scandal-scarred stepson tried to leverage his family connections to land lucrative deals with overseas executives.
But she also insisted the American people didn’t care about the Biden family’s murky deals with energy companies in Ukraine and China while her husband was serving in President Barack Obama’s White House.
“You know, as a mother, I don’t like to see my son attacked and certainly I don’t like to see my husband attacked,” she said.
“I mean, this election is not about Joe Biden or Jill Biden or Kamala or Doug. It is about the American people. The American people don’t want to hear these smears against my family,” she claimed.
“The American people are struggling right now. They’re in the midst of all this chaos. They’re trying to figure out how to put food on the table. They don’t have jobs. They need health care. Americans don’t want to hear this.”
On Thursday, an ex-business partner of Hunter Biden went on the record to confirm emails published by The Post and said Joe Biden was heavily involved in the scheme to make millions by partnering with a shady Chinese Communist firm and was the figure referred to as “the big guy.”
Tony Bobulinski, who describes himself as a former partner of Hunter Biden, confirmed he was the recipient of a May 13, 2017, email published by The Post last week that laid out a deal among Hunter Biden, a number of his partners and a Chinese energy company.
The former Navy lieutenant identified himself as the CEO of Sinohawk Holdings, a partnership between Shanghai-based conglomerate CEFC China Energy Co. and the Biden family.
The email, which has the subject line “Expectations,” details the remuneration for six individuals in the business deal, including “the big guy.”
Wrote Bobulinski: “The reference to ‘the Big Guy’ in the much publicized May 13, 2017 email is in fact a reference to Joe Biden. The other ‘JB’ referenced in that email is Jim Biden, Joe’s brother.”
“Hunter Biden called his dad ‘the Big Guy’ or ‘my Chairman,’ and frequently referenced asking him for his sign-off or advice on various potential deals that we were discussing,” he went on.
“I’ve seen Vice President Biden saying he never talked to Hunter about his business. I’ve seen firsthand that that’s not true, because it wasn’t just Hunter’s business, they said they were putting the Biden family name and its legacy on the line.”
The email is contained in a massive trove of data that was recovered from a hard drive owned by Hunter Biden and included correspondence indicating he introduced his father to an executive at a Ukrainian energy firm less than a year before the then-veep pressured government officials in Ukraine into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company.
