Editor’s note: The following is a list of the board, commission and council meetings that are scheduled in the coming week around Humboldt County.

Arcata City Council

When: First and third Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m.; special meeting at 5:15 p.m.

Where: The meeting can be viewed on the city’s website, via the city’s YouTube channel at
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJYGp9zDPdWMGtA0BtfFX_A or via Access Humboldt channels.

• The council will meet at 5:15 for a special meeting to interview candidates for the Public Safety Committee. During the regular meeting, a candidate will be appointed to the position.

• The council will receive an annual report from the Public Safety Committee.

• The council will discuss whether to extend the local emergency declaration related to the coronavirus pandemic.

• The council will receive a report from Recology Arcata regarding recycling, markets, and state laws about waste diversion.

• The council will discuss beautification efforts in support of economic recovery.

• The council will discuss the potential scope of a hosting ordinance

College of the Redwoods Board of Trustees

When: First Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m.

• The board will hold a public hearing on the final 2020-21 budget.

• The board will consider a resolution on making findings of energy savings.

Eureka City Council

When: First and third Tuesdays of the month at 6 p.m.

Where: The meeting can be viewed on the city’s website or via Access Humboldt channels.

• The council will meet in closed session at 5 p.m. to discuss a new lawsuit and labor negotiations.

• The council will hold a public hearing on coastal sign text and a local coastal program amendment.

• The council will consider authorizing an application for a HomeKey grant.

• The council will consider a letter of support for a state public bank.

• The council will receive an update on the sky-walk at Sequoia Park Zoo.

Humboldt County Board of Supervisors

When: Every Tuesday except for the fifth Tuesday of a month at 9 a.m.

Where: The meeting can be viewed on the county’s website or via Access Humboldt channels.

• The board will consider authorizing public works to send an application for phase 2 of the Annie and Mary Trail.

• The board will consider authorizing the sheriff’s office for an electronic monitoring program that would allow for serving time outside of the jail.

• The board will consider appointment for three at-large positions on the McKinleyville Municipal Advisory Committee.

• The board will hold a public hearing on changes to the accessory dwelling unit ordinance.

• The board will receive an update on the conditions surrounding COVID-19 in Humboldt County.

• The board will hear an appeal to a Humboldt County Planning Commission approval of a cultivation business in Honeydew.

• The board will meet in closed session for a performance evaluation of the Child Support Services director and to discuss one lawsuit.

Humboldt County Human Rights Commission

When: First Thursday of the month at 5 p.m.

Where: Humboldt County Courthouse, 825 Fifth St., Room 1A

Humboldt County Planning Commission

When: First Thursday of the month at 6 p.m.

• The commission will consider changes to the cannabis ordinance addressing small growers, personal use and financial security.

• The commission will hold a public hearing on having live events at the Humboldt County Fairgrounds.

Rio Dell City Council

When: First and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m.

• The council will consider amending the ordinance on sign regulations.
