The Times is looking for stories from readers.

Over the last decade, egg freezing has become more mainstream, with a nearly 450 percent increase in the procedure between 2012 and 2020, according to the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology. What was once used almost exclusively for women who were about to undergo taxing medical treatments, like chemotherapy, is now also used by young healthy women seeking to pause their biological clocks for a variety of reasons.

But as useful as the procedure can be, it can come with drawbacks. While some new data suggests the success rates of egg freezing are relatively high, a birth isn’t guaranteed on the other side, creating a false sense of hope for many women. And, for many others, the procedure is still prohibitively expensive and out of reach.

The New York Times is looking to hear from women who are thinking about or have already gone through the process of freezing their eggs. Why did you do it? What was your experience like? Did you end up using the eggs you froze? Would you want to freeze your eggs if the option was available to you?

If you are interested in sharing your experience and thoughts about egg freezing, fill out the form below and a reporter may be in touch.
