Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer said Monday the city will build a senior center and senior housing project on the site of a vacant grocery store in central Fresno. The city will purchase the property on Blackstone Ave., just north of Ashlan, for $6.4 million. Dyer said the existing store will be demolished and estimated construction costs for the senior facilities to be $20 million.
GV Wire videographer Johnny Soto was on hand as Dyer and city councilmembers Nelson Esparza and Tyler Maxwell described the city’s plans.
