The fifth episode in the Redlands Symphony Orchestra’s online Symphony Rewind series, featuring music of Beethoven, was launched June 11.
Ransom Wilson, the orchestra’s music director and conductor, has chosen recording’s from the Redlands Symphony’s archives for the online concert, available at www.redlandssymphony.com/rewind.
The program features Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 and “Fidelio” Overture, according to a news release.
Also on the program is violinist Miguel Aguirre’s February 2017 performance of the Violin Concerto No. 1 by Max Bruch. Aguirre played the concerto with the Redlands Symphony as a winner in the University of Redlands’ annual concerto competition.
The online program is free and available any time and includes commentary by Ransom Wilson.
The Redlands Symphony’s Rewind series was launched in September 2020 with a program featuring music of Mozart. Other episodes offer music of Spain, music by Czech composers and music by Lalo Schifrin, including his Theme from “Mission: Impossible.”
