The District 24 Little League all-star tournaments have begun.
And more and more games will be contested during the next three weeks leading up to the Island championship games in five divisions -- 10s and 12s softball and 10s, 11s and 12s baseball -- in early July.
It’s nice when SILive.com and the Advance can cover your games, but unfortunately we can’t get to all of them. That’s why it’s important for the managers of the winning teams to send us results after each game.
Sending in results is easy: Just email the Advance sports department at sports2@siadvance.com and provide us with with the date of the game (example 6-17-21), division (10s baseball), the two teams that played (West Shore and South Shore), and the score of the game (5-2, West Shore). Then provide some highlights like the winning pitcher (Joe Blow, 5 innings, 2-hitter, 2 walks, 10ks) and some hitting stars and what they did (Lisa Smith, 2 for 3, including a two-run homer in a 5-run fifth inning that blew the game open).
Also include your record in pool play and mention what team you play next on what day and time. Lastly, please leave us your name and phone number so that we can reach you with any questions. Please put LL All Stars in the subject field.
The rule of thumb should be: If you don’t talk to a reporter from the Advance after your game, you should be emailing us soon after the game. It’s important to know that the later you email us the less chance your game has of making the next day’s paper. But it will make the paper soon after that.
