It’s a huge weekend to demonstrate your Rowan pride and to support our field hockey team as the Profs continue their quest for a national title.
Ranked third in the country (see story), Rowan will compete in—and host—the NCAA Division III field hockey championships at Coach Richard Wackar Stadium on the Glassboro campus.
Rowan, which is 21-1, will play second-ranked Middlebury, the defending national champion, in the semifinals this Friday, Nov. 18, at 3 p.m. A win would send the Profs to the national championship game this Sunday, Nov. 20, at 1 p.m.
It has been decades since Rowan has welcomed the nation’s elite athletic programs for the NCAA Division III championships. It’s a privilege to host the championships and to have home field advantage as we come together to cheer the Profs as they vie for their second national title and their first title in two decades.
I’m looking forward to seeing a packed house this weekend at Wackar Stadium. We ask employees to please attend if your schedule permits, but check with your supervisor before making arrangements for attending games during work hours.
Additionally, I encourage all employees and students to wear Rowan gear this Friday to demonstrate support for Coach Michelle Andre’s squad.
Tickets for Friday and Sunday are free for all Rowan students with a valid ID. Additional tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students, senior citizens and children.
The field hockey Final Four this year includes Rowan, Middlebury, Williams and Johns Hopkins.
The team’s journey to the Final Four caps off an extraordinary season for our athletic teams. Five teams—field hockey, volleyball, men’s cross country, and men’s and women’s soccer—won NJAC titles this year, the most ever for one institution in a single season.
Congratulations to all of our teams, their coaches, and our Athletics Department. Our student athletes work tremendously hard to represent Rowan University. I’m so very proud of their hard work, dedication and sportsmanship.
