WESTFIELD — As part of the development of a new master plan, the first in 50 years, the city of Westfield’s Master Plan Committee launched a 10-question, 10-minute public survey at the Westfield Big Day/Night Out celebration on Aug. 6.
The survey was developed by consultant James Riordan of Weston & Sampson, the firm hired last spring to create the Master Plan, with input from the Master Plan committee chaired by Jay Ducharme, with members Rick Barry, Jennifer Battles, Jillian Battles, Brent Bean II (City Council representative), Sharon Greany, Rania Kfuri, Les Pooler, Bernie Puza (Planning Board), Richard Salois (Planning Board), Bill Schneeloch, Alexandra Smialek, Maureen Socha (Westfield State University), Harrison Stefano, Agma Sweeney and Melissa Trzasko.
Ducharme said they took advantage of the day-long festival to let people know they were “off and running” with the master plan for the first time in 60 years.
