KINGDOM CITY — A presentation by the salary committee will be among the new business items the North Callaway R-1 School District Board of Education will hear at its May meeting Thursday night.
The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the high school media center.
High school business teacher Amy Craghead and middle school counselor Mady Horn will speak to the board on behalf of the salary committee.
Business manager Kellie Chapin will present board members with bids on the high school roof, trash and pest control.
The board will also hear a presentation from Chapin and Superintendent Nicky Kemp on L.J. Hart and Co. prepayment and will consider two resolutions.
The first resolution would authorize the redemption of $200,000 principal amount of general obligation bonds, Series 2015, and would also authorize the publication of a notice of the redemption.
The second resolution would authorize the redemption of $540,000 principal amount of general obligation refunding bonds, Series 2017, and would also authorize the publication of a notice of the redemption.
High school social studies teacher Jason Smith will make a presentation to board members on the 21st Century Community Learning Center grant application.
Under old business, the board will hear a presentation from Kemp on COVID-19 and the 2020-21 school year, including an update on CARES Act funding.
Board members will also discuss teacher surveys, will receive an update from administrators on the district's Comprehensive School Improvement plan and will hear a presentation from Kemp on June board meetings.
Board President Sandy Lavy will recognize district employees for their years of service as well as those who are retiring at the end of the school year.
