We're six days into camp and the recently signed Andreas Athanasiou was a hot topic.

Head Coach Todd McLellan spoke on Athanasiou's first practice with the Kings.

"He's got good legs, he's fast and fits our group well. Hopefully as we go forward, things keep getting better and better for him," McLellan said.

McLellan also touched on his clarity of the roster opening day, the status of when the World Junior Championship participants can join camp, the special team's units, the goalie battle and more.

Following his first practice with the Kings, Andreas Athanasiou talked about his conditioning, building chemistry with his new teammates and his respect for Coach McLellan.

"When you have someone like [Todd McLellan] running the team, it's going to be top notch. He's going to get the most out of the guys. [McLellan] has helped me a ton already," Athanasiou told the media.

Entering his second season with the Kings, Lizotte spoke to the media covering his offseason focuses, goals for the season, the appreciation he has for Jeff Carter and more. 

"I'm always learning from him, he is full of wisdom from how much that he's around the league and the Stanley Cup's that he's been to and won," Lizotte said. "Every day I come to the rink I still try to be a sponge around him, seeing his practice habits and how intense he is on the ice. He's always at a high-level and I always want to strive to be like that"
