Volvo Chief Technology Officer Henrik Green will be part of an Automotive News Europe Congress panel discussion titled, Assisted or Autonomous Driving? It will be available via webcast on Thursday, July 16 at 14:00 CEST.
 
Henrik Green has been CTO since May 2019 at Volvo, which has recently announced that by 2022 it would start selling lidar-equipped vehicles for private use that are capable of driving on highways. Volvo says its so-called Highway Pilot will be introduced on the new version of its Scalable Product Architecture, called SPA2, with the third-generation of its XC90 flagship SUV.

Green, who has a degree in computer engineering, has worked at Volvo since 1996, and has held various positions in powertrain engineering.

He led the initiative to formulate Volvo’s current three- and four-cylinder engine strategy, and worked to align powertrain software among Volvo, Ford Motor and Jaguar Land Rover. He has also overseen product strategy at Volvo in China, and in 2016 was named head of the Swedish automaker's R&D.
