President Trump's niece is set to reveal herself in a tell-all book as the confidential source behind a prize-winning story on the family's finances.
In Too Much and Never Enough, due in August, the daughter of Trump's late brother Fred Trump Jr. will detail “harrowing and salacious” stories about the president, people with knowledge of the book told the Daily Beast.
Mary Trump is expected to explain how she was a primary source for the New York Times's blockbuster investigation into Fred Trump Sr.'s business dealings, supplying tax returns and other confidential documents that showed how the president received nearly $413 million from his father's real estate empire, starting when he was a young child. The documents showed Donald Trump was involved in what the New York Times wrote were "legally dubious" tax schemes in the 1990s, some of which "appeared to be fraudulent."
The president's niece has not spoken publicly for years. Her father, Fred Trump Jr., died in 1981.
Mary Trump's feud with the president, as well as with his surviving siblings, dates back 20 years, beginning with a fight over Fred Trump Sr.'s will and the now-president's move to cut support and medical care for the grandson of Fred Trump Jr. The grandson has cerebral palsy.
A story from December 2000 described the president and two siblings terminating family medical coverage for the son of Fred Trump Jr., and therefore the grandson, one week after Fred Trump Jr.'s son and Mary Trump challenged the will of Fred Trump Sr.
A long-teased tell-all by Trump's former national security adviser, John Bolton, is expected June 23.
